20 Brush Level Design Contest

is sponsoring a "20 Brush" level design contest. The contest is open to brush-based editors such as Half-Life, Quake and Unreal.

In order to celebrate our start we are going to revive a contest called ’20 Brush Contest’ formerly held by the Quake 3 mapper cha0s. A link to the results of the last contest

The 20 brush contest allows the mapper to use only a maximum of 20 brushes to create a playable level. Which means they have to be creative and talented in order to create good results. Nowadays more and more is done by modeling if not everything. So it’s basically a contest that returns to the roots.

There is no grand prize except for the honor of being the chosen the best out of four different editing communities.

We've seen some pretty spectacular examples of back-to-basics editing around these parts in the past. Let's see what you can do!
