larrystorch: Since you started the overhaul project for Jailbreak III, have any of you discussed a UT2003 Jailbreak?
Mychaeel: We've been discussing it, and there's only little that is likely to keep us from moving on to UT2003 with Jailbreak. I'm personally looking forward to getting my hands on the new engine -- some of the things that are already publicly known about it sound as if they're just waiting to be used for JB2003...
The Jailbreak code base is in dire need for a thorough overhaul -- we did what we could in Jailbreak III already, but to keep compatibility with existing maps we had to keep a lot of legacy code as well. Starting from scratch with our current experience with Jailbreak and the Unreal engine is an exciting prospect.
larrystorch: That's what I wanted to hear :)
So there you go folks, a quick talk with some of the people that brought UT Jailbreak to you. If you haven't checked out JB III, or not at all (shame on you), head over to the UT Jailbreak site and start downloading it. It's a great mod both online and alone with bots.
And speaking of online, come join the fun every Sunday for Sunday Lockdown. A complete map list for Lockdown can be found in this UTJB forum thread.
Here's to seeing a JB2003 in the future. And thanks to the JB team for giving us some of their time.
