Section 8: Prejudice To Be Sold For $14.99
The original Section 8 was a game that I liked quite a bit, but had a fair share of problems and flaws that prevented it from really taking off - and being released so close to Modern Warfare 2 didn't help either. That's a problem that developer TimeGate Studios is seeking to resolve -
by selling the sequel, a fully standalone game, for a mere $14.99.There may be something strange in the water down here in Texas, or perhaps TimeGate Studios’ CEO, Adel Chaveleh, has gone completely mad, but the award-winning independent developer and publisher has revealed that Section 8: Prejudice, a sequel to the full-priced Section 8, will be available exclusively as a digital download on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Windows PC for just $14.99 / 1200 Microsoft Points. No joke.
Prejudice is a full-featured, sci-fi-themed, first-person shooter that delivers a 5-hour, story-driven single-player campaign, robust online multiplayer for up to 32 players across a variety of maps, and a new 4-player co-op game mode, entitled Swarm. As if that wasn’t enough, all game modes and content will be playable offline, as the $14.99 product also includes full bot support.
“We’re challenging the notion of just how much quality and value we can pack into a digital download first-person shooter,” said Adel Chaveleh, CEO of TimeGate Studios. “Our target is very simply to be the highest quality, best value digital FPS on the market. Prejudice is a full-retail-scoped product, so I’m sure our fans will be very happy with our price-point decision.”
Section 8: Prejudice will be out for PC, PS3, and XBox 360 sometime during Q1 2011.
